KAU TO'A JNR U16 BOYS' INTERNATIONAL REPS:

Congratulations to Ilai Tu'a (Year 11) who has been selected to represent NZ Tonga Rugby League!

Ilai will compete in the Queensland Tonga Community Rugby League Tournament on 2 November 2024, in Brisbane, Australia, as part of the Kau To’a Junior Under 16 Boys International Representatives team.

Ilai, who plays for the GBHS lst Xlll team took part in a number of trials last term, before learning about his selection.

"I was the only one chosen who didn't come from a 'rugby' school," says Ilai, who plays Lock and Prop.

Ilai's mum, Pakileata, says the family are very proud.

"But I told him he has to make sure his NCEA studies are still done on time," she says.
