Te Angitu Ngātahi - working together:
As part of our close relationship with our local intermediate schools, a team of Year 11 tauira were selected to help judge the Blockhouse Bay Intermediate Oral Language Competition, today.
Emily Box (ex BBI), Kobe Peters (ex BBI), Penelope Logie, and Ezra Mould were selected as judges, due to their own high-level writing and oral ability and were fantastic ambassadors for GBHS.
As part of the judging team, they viewed 12 speeches from the Year 7 and Year 8 finals - and selected their winners based on organisation; awareness of purpose and audience, oral ability and vocal technique.
Our tauira were exemplary role models for the younger tauira, showing maturity and empathy in the delivery of the feedback and results. Also announcing the winners and presenting certificates and trophies.
Demonstrating excellence and responsiveness, this event was another great example of how we value connectedness across our community as we work together, Te Angitu Ngātahi, with the broader community.
