Life skills and leadership potential - World Vision Youth Conference

A select group of GBHS students attended the World Vision Youth Conference on Tuesday (7 May 2024).

World Vision Youth Conferences support youth development.

During this one-day event, Nora Vastag, Luka Guthrie, Meeri Geerken and Marta Criado-Sors Kruche heard about social justice issues, and are now motivated and eager to share their knowledge with others to help them become active and productive members of their communities.

"Working together as a community is more effective than working as an individual," says Marta (Year 13 Student Leader).

"We picked up some great ideas about encouraging our school to join the 40Hr Famine," says Nora (Year 10) adding guest speakers and interactive displays provided food for thought, with innovative ideas, such as planting 40 trees within 40 hours.

"Although we'll have to do some research on that idea, to see if it was actually possible!" says Luka (Year 10).
