Ngā Manawa Tītī:

GBHS's student choir, Ngā Manawa Tītī, performed in The Big Sing on Wednesday 19 June with Miss Tsoi conducting and Year 12 music student Kouki Zhang accompanying on the piano. They performed at the Auckland Town Hall along with many other schools. Their performance took place in the afternoon session, where they sang three songs.

Their first song was "Hutia te Rito," a waiata arranged by Miss Tsoi specifically for the group. The second song was "Lift Me Up," written by Robyn Fenty, more commonly known as Rihanna, from the Marvel Studios film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." Their final song was "Fly Me to the Moon," composed by Bart Howard and arranged by Roger Emerson.

The choir was accompanied by Year 11 music students Björn Griffiths on the drum kit and Harrison Trousdell on the bass guitar.

Students were very excited and nervous, but their hard work was well recognized. They received the Ministry of Youth Development ‘Spirit of the Festival’ Regional Award, along with a cash prize for the school, acknowledging the choir for embodying the spirit and values of The Big Sing. They also performed in the gala concert at 7 PM that night.
