GBHS students are enjoying Winter Sports, participating and supporting each other in high numbers.

With all winter teams well and truly underway - what better way to start the weekend than rugging up, donning the gumboots and supporting your local school team! Click HERE for this week's Draw.

GBHS has three girls' Football teams who are all having a great start to the year - with the 1st X1 Girls' currently undefeated, and the 2nd XI Girls' also sitting undefeated and top of their league.

The Auckland Cross Country Champs held at Lloyd Elsmore Park, earlier this week saw Sofia Maulvurfs (Year 9) finishing in 4th place. GBHS took a team of 11 and all of these students are working towards competing at the nationals, to be held in Christchurch in June.

GBHS was represented by a team of 5 students at the recent Squash Champs - a 2-day event held at North Shore Squash Centre. The team performed extremely well with Oskar Fischer (Year 12) winning his division, Connor Hansford (Year 13) placed 6th in Div 1. Luke Blake (Year 13) 2nd, Isak Raccuglia (Year 13) 3rd, and Mitchell Layton (Year 13) 4th in their respective divisions. This team are also preparing for Nationals, taking place in Wellington.

Oliva Tukia - pictured above (Year 13) and Isaac Gear (Year 13) competed in the Auckland Swimming champs in the Senior Boys and Girls respectively. Olivia placed 4th in 50m freestyle, and 5th in 50m fly. Isaac placed 3rd in 50m freestyle, 5th in 50m fly, and 5th in 50m backstroke.
