Emma Ducker (Yr 13) and Adam Bennett (Yr 11) are leading by example, having climbed the rugged volcanic peaks of the Pinnacles, as part of their Scouting commitments, and are about to reap the awards!
Emma has completed her Queen's Guide Award - the highest accolade for Girl Guides and will be presented the award by the Governor General in Wellington later in the year. Emma was supported by her brother Alex (Yr 11) and dad, Tim, who also completed the hike, for fitness, moral support … and the spectacular views.
Adam also recently tramped the Pinnacles and has worked around his cricket commitments to complete his Chief Scout Award. Another highlight of his Award was attending a Scout Jamboree for 10 days at Mystery Creek. Adam has been involved in Scouts since he was five years old, developing important life skills such as leadership, citizenship, and outdoor competency while fostering a sense of community service.
