Pasifika Hui

Thursday, 20th February 2025 at 7:40am

Bula Vinaka, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Fakatalofa atu, Kia orana, Mālō e lelei, Mālō nī, Talofa lava, Tēnā koutou katoa and warm Pacific greetings to all parents and aiga of our Pacific students.

GBHS warmly welcomes our new Pacific aiga to our school community. Please join us at our first Pasifika Hui on Thursday 6 March 2025, starting at 6.00pm in the staffroom.

We have over forty new Pasifika families joining Green Bay High School in 2025. We look forward to meeting you and working with you over the next few years.

Deputy Principal, Elaine Webb has been part of strengthening the bonds with our Pacific families for the past five years, and is extremely proud and humbled that part of her role is to engage with our Pacific community, to create positive relationships and to ensure all of GBHS's Pacific students are thriving. Mrs Webb enjoys getting to know many of our Pacific students and their aiga, and strives to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and involved in our school and community.

The purpose of this meeting is to meet and connect with you, hear how the start to the year has gone for you, and create an opportunity for you to meet some key staff who will support your child throughout their journey with us...and of course enjoy rich talanoa over some food. We have an amazing support team for our Pasifika students: Ulata Hurt, Savali Tafia and Mose Vaka, who will introduce themselves at this Hui.
