House Carnival 2024

Raising School Spirit:

Dress in House Colours Let the Games Begin! Get into the School Spirit by making your House Colours shine - perhaps your House may even make it to the top of the leaderboard, setting the standard for the 2024 House Competition!

The day will begin with students going to their FORM CLASS for roll/attendance, before students put their finishing touches to house banners, flags, and fine tune their chants and costumes.

Just like the Olympics, the games will begin with a House Parade on the field, before competitions get underway. Three legged races, relays, tug of war competitions, jumping castles, and water sponge races are just a few of the 'main events' on offer.

The school Tuck Shop (Good Vibes cafe) will provide a Carnival BURGER DAY special!

Pre-orders can be made at the tuck Shop. Don't miss out! Please note: pre-orders need to be made at the tuck shop by the end of lunchtime on TUESDAY 27 FEB ie students can pre-order the burgers / combos at breaktime and lunchtime starting from today, until Tuesday 27 Feb).

CARNIVAL DAY BURGERS:

• Burger: chicken (or) beef (or) vegetarian $7.50
• Combo: Burger: chicken (or) beef (or) vegetarian + packet of chips and a can of Vibe drink $10.50
• Vibe drinks: $2.00 a can
  
  Students belong to one of five Houses which are named after our local beaches: Anawhata (black), Karekare (yellow), Muriwai (blue), Whatipu (red), Piha (green). Green Bay High School is always awash with colour, fun, laughter and sportsmanship during our annual House Carnival. House competitions provide a sense of competition and whanau support, through a range of school based activities, and are run throughout the year with points awarded for each event. The Leader Board, situated in Student Services, clearly shows which House is in the lead.

Be sure to bring plenty of food and water to keep you fuelled throughout the day ... as well as a hat and sunblock!

House Points and Prizes will be given for:

• Best House Chant
• Best Dressed House
• Best Dressed Staff member
• Most Vocal Student Leader
• Best Dressed student from each House
• Loudest House
• Most Memorable Moment.
