GPS Sailing

Alexis Heckler (Year 12) is setting her sights on the horizon, and hopes to be part of a selected sailing team invited to participate in the SailGP Grand Final in San Francisco next year.

Having recently completed three days of training in Christchurch, as part of the SailGP Inspire Racing WASZP programme, Alexis enjoyed her hands-on experience sailing in a foiling Waszp in the lead-up to the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix.

Although Alexis did not see any dolphins (!) a highlight of the event was watching the Australian team crash in front of the grandstand!
