Welcome

GBHS would like to warmly welcome Clare Cheetham to our Learning Support team!

Kia ora koutou, My name is Clare, and I am very excited to be part of the Green Bay High whānau. I live in Māngere Bridge with my husband, Neil, and our three children. I’m a Taranaki girl at heart, and visit the mighty Naki as much as I can.

I have always been interested in learning support and stumbled into it by accident while working as a teacher in London back in 2004. Twenty years on, I’ve been fortunate to work in a variety of roles, most recently working at Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu.

It’s a privilege to be part of the learning support team at GBHS, and I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my career.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me hanging out with my children or in my kitchen baking - I’m currently tweaking recipes for the perfect custard slice, watch this space!

Wellbeing is an important part of what we do at Green Bay High School.

Our aim is to improve a student’s well being, which in turn reduces barriers to a student’s academic progress, and other life goals. Green Bay High School's Pastoral Care team, overseen by Senior Management, is committed to achieving this by working towards a socially healthy and emotionally safe school. If you would like to find out more about the counselling services available at Green Bay High School, please contact any of our Pastoral Team members: CLICK HERE for more information.

Our school's Lead Counsellor is Gabriel De Guzman. The best way to request an appointment is to complete an online Counselling Referral Form. The Counselling team work alongside a team of 24/7 Youth Workers. Melissa Bridle is our 24/7 Team Leader. 24/7 Youth Workers provide further support to students through positive role-modeling, mentoring, and helping our young people navigate healthy choices.

At the face of our Student Reception area is Helen Wigham (ph: 817-8173 ext 205). Our School Nursing team works within the Student Reception area, and comprises of Registered Nurses Melissa Povey, Greer Cutfield, and Lorraine Torrance. Our Health Care team can be contacted via email or phone: 817-8173 ext 253.

Our Attendance Officer is Julie Southey (ph: 817-8173 ext 234). Please contact Julie to report student absences, so that attendance can be marked accurately. Alternatively you can report an absence quickly via the SchoolBridge App. For more information about Student Services, please CLICK HERE.
