Congratulations to Thomas Christie (Year 13) who has won the coveted title of 'Champion of the Drum Improvisation section' after recently competing in the National Young Jazz Bandit competition in Wellington, against talented drummers from across the country.

Thomas has always had a deep love for music, particularly jazz drumming. His dedication and commitment to honing his skills led him to this national competition.

His path to victory was marked by countless hours of practice, determination, and remarkable improvisational skills. His performance in the improvisation section captivated the judges and the audience.

At Green Bay High School, we take immense pride in nurturing and supporting young talents like Thomas. We believe in providing resources and opportunities for students to succeed in their chosen fields.
