CCTV at Green Bay High School
Like many schools, Green Bay High School has a system of CCTV cameras throughout the campus. A network of cameras are installed in public areas such as corridors, entrances, and outdoor spaces, to ensure maximum coverage while respecting privacy. This helps to keep students and property safe. CCTV cameras assist us in resolving incidents, and in the event of an emergency can provide real-time monitoring of the school site, enabling quicker and more informed responses.
Additionally, cameras are installed in our Technology workshops to monitor heavy machinery, ensuring the safety of students and staff while using this equipment, and in some of the communal areas of bathrooms where they have been instrumental in stopping a pattern of repeat vandalism and damage.
How we balance safety with privacy Having CCTV on-site comes with responsibility. We are committed to using CCTV respectfully and transparently, ensuring it supports safety measures while respecting individual privacy. CCTV footage is reviewed only when necessary by authorised personnel, such as Deans and members of the Senior Leadership Team. Footage from the communal areas of bathrooms is stored securely in a separate hard drive with additional access controls.
By using CCTV thoughtfully and responsibly, we aim to create a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all members of our school community. Like always, feedback is welcome.
