Oh, What a Night!

GBHS's Jnr Creative Arts Showcase had it all! (Wednesday 20 November 2024)

Upon entering the Auditorium foyer, guests were treated to a visual feast of the varied technology mediums with student sculptures, blended photographs, paintings and creatively designed speakers proudly on display, before heading inside for the main event (including artwork by Year 7 and Year 8 students from our neighbouring Green Bay School, who attend their Technology classes at GBHS).

A whimsical evening of music, drama and dance followed on stage, with student bands showcasing their love of rock music (their skill was truly impressive).

We were amazed at the harmonies of our musical duets on the violin and vocalists.

Drama students presented us with humour, and stories of friendship (and tricks) taking us on an adventure through a haunted house. An enthralled audience were laughing one minute, and on the edge of their seats in 'fear' the next!

We were impressed by the beauty and skill of our dancers. It was wonderful to see almost all our Year 10 dancers on stage in a musical theatre number and our Junior Dance Troupe performed their winning piece.

It was a night of delight from our incredible young artists. The whole show was facilitated by the junior students. Leading us throughout the evening were two professional and compelling MC's. All performers were supported by a backstage crew assisting with the set, and props, as well as operating the sound and lights.

We are extremely proud of all our young artists!
