GBHS Year 10 Business Studies students have braved the Dragon's Den!
Innovation and creativity were on the minds of many during this week's BP Challenge.
Today each 'business' presented their plans to a panel of invited guests, comprising of business owners, managers, marketing, and HR experts.
Our BP Challenge winners for 2023 are.....drum roll please........ Splash Defence! Lily Roebeck, Rowan Farrington, Isobel Mitchel, Nina Van Kan, Samantha Keleti, Kristina Vinkovic, Sophie Erceg and Loren Forgie, whose product prevents chlorine from damaging hair and stripping it from its natural oils.
Confidence and pride were evident as presentations were pitched. Well done to everyone involved - there were a number of fantastic and ingenious ideas - ranging from natural desserts and sustainable packaging, pet care and eco-friendly dog toys, to health care, fashion, and footwear...and more!
As part of the BP Challenge, students form a virtual company to devise a business solution that solves a problem. Their company must develop marketing, production, strategic, sustainability, and finance plans, prepare a business pitch, and present their business plan to the judges.
The annual BP Business Challenge introduces Year 10 students to the basics of developing a business based on a new product. Students develop skills, and gain an understanding of how entrepreneurs start a business; and how a successful business operates.
