Pasifika Family Meeting

PASIFIKA FAMILY MEETING: Thursday 20 June. 6pm start.

This term has been a really exciting and productive term for our Pasifika students. We celebrated Samoan Language Week with performance rehearsals, volleyball, making lolly leis, and shared a lunch with staff and students wearing cultural dress.

GBHS will be hosting our Pasifika Family Meeting on Thursday 20 June, starting at 6pm in the GBHS Staffroom. Come along and meet Mose Vaka, who has joined our staff in the capacity of Pacific Academic mentor, working alongside Ulata Hurt, Seán Finan, and Deputy Principal Elaine Webb, to better support our Pasifika students.

Mose joins us with a wealth of experience from Massey High School, and Alternative Education, and is a fantastic addition to our team.

The purpose of the evening is to catch up, share ideas, and update families on the work we are doing, while also sharing kai together. We are also excited to announce that we have four performance groups set to perform in our school auditorium on Matariki (Friday 28 June) and we are very grateful to Ulata for all her work around this. We will need help with costumes, so it will be good to discuss this at our meeting as well.
