Feeling unw…' --- # Student Services Student Services The Hub of Student Enquiries ![students](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/user/pages/09.student-life/04.student-services/hub%20of%20school.jpg "students") ##### Situated in the back of the main Admin block, the Student Services reception area is the vibrant hub of all student enquiries - Reporting an Absence? - Signing in late? - Needing to leave for an appointment during school hours? - Wanting to borrow uniform items? - Need a copy of your Timetable? - Feeling unwell? - Need to see the Counsellor? - Wanting to see your Dean? All of these services and answers to your day-to-day questions can be addressed at Student Services reception. #### Counselling and Pastoral Care Team Wellbeing is an important part of what we do at Green Bay High School. Our aim is to improve a student’s well being, which in turn reduces barriers to a student’s academic progress, and other life goals. Our strong [pastoral team](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/student-life/wellbeing-and-support) is committed to achieving this by working towards a socially healthy and emotionally safe school. Our counsellors are members of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and adhere to their Code of Ethics. This ensures that counselling is conducted to a high professional standard and our counsellors are committed to continually developing their practice to provide the best support for our students. It also means that all counselling is confidential unless there is an imminent risk to safety. #### Student Services and Sick Bay **Feeling unwell?**Students who feel unwell during the school day should go to the school sick bay, situated in the Student Services area. Our Student Services team and School Nurses are here to help. If students need additional medical help or need to go home, a member of the Health team will contact parent/caregivers to make arrangements. Students will need to sign out before going home. Parents/Caregivers are requested to collect students from the Student Services area - located at the back entrance of the main Reception building. #### How to contact the School Nurse/s - Email: [nurse@greenbayhigh.school.nz](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/student-life/student-services/nurse@greenbayhigh.school.nz) to send messages to our Registered Nurses. - Phone: (09) 817 8173 ext 253 **Needing to leave school early for an appointment?**Students who need to leave school during the day for an appointment are to bring a note or medical/dental appointment card, signed by a parent/caregiver to show the teacher and be permitted to leave class. Students are required to sign out at Student Services, accompanied by a parent/caregiver. If possible, please phone ahead, or request an **EXIT PASS**. **Running Late?**Please contact Student Services Reception [Helen Wigham](mailto:helen.wigham@greenbayhigh.school.nz) (ph: 817-8173 ext 205) to notify of a late arrival, so that attendance can be marked accurately. Students arriving late to school will need to sign in at Student Services with a member of the Senior Leadership Team to collect a Late Slip. **Parent/Caregivers: Need to collect your child during the day?**From time to time, things 'crop up' during the day and students may need to leave, accompanied by a parent/caregiver. If possible, please phone ahead, or request an **EXIT PASS**. This allows us time to notify the student and have them waiting for you in Student Services, ready for you to sign out upon your arrival. **Reporting an Absence?**Please contact [Attendance Officer](mailto:julie.southey@greenbayhigh.school.nz) (ph: 817-8173 ext 234) or Student Services Reception [Helen Wigham](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/student-life/student-services/helen.wigham@greenbayhigh.school.nz) (ph: 817-8173 ext 205) to report any student absences, so that attendance can be marked accurately. Notify the school of an absence or appointment, you can also check your child's Timetable, view Reports and Results, book Parent/Student/Teacher conferences online and see Calendar events. The first time that you log in to the Web Portal, using the Username and Password sent to you via email, you will see the below window prompting you to create your own unique password. Each student that you have at Green Bay High School will have their own password. We strongly recommend that you create the same password for each student attending to allow for a smooth switch between sibling accounts. There is ONE caregiver account per household (i.e. Primary Caregiver / Secondary Caregiver), please ensure all caregivers registered with us in each household use the same password.
