Today’s celebration assemblies gave us the chance to acknowledge the achievements of so many students, but I also want to take this moment to congratulate all our students on the hard work, resilience and commitment they have shown over these past ten weeks. This week also saw the results of our Board of Trustees elections released. Congratulations to our five successful candidates; Justin Dean, Dan Brunt, Chris Manase, Sarah Turner and Angus Swainson, I look forward to working alongside you over the next three years. I also want to sincerely thank all those who stood for election; it is a real strength of our Green Bay High School community that so many people are prepared to offer their time and energy in service of our community. A very special acknowledgement goes to Norm Wallace, who is stepping down after more than 20 years of dedicated service to Green Bay High School. His leadership and unwavering commitment have shaped our school in countless ways, and I am deeply grateful for the support he has given me in my seven years at the school. I also want to thank Paul White and Zoe Hawkins, whose thoughtful contributions and behind-the-scenes mahi have been invaluable to the success of our school. As we head into Term 4, we have much to look forward to with prizegivings and celebrations, the beginning of the summer season of sport as well as the final concerts and exhibitions for the year. These occasions are always a highlight for our students and staff, and I hope to see many of you there. I wish all students, staff and whānau a safe and restful term break. Thank you for your continued support of our school.
