Also recognised were several GBHS alumni, Isaac Gear with a Bronze award for Surf Lifesaving and Alexis Heckler with a Training Grant for Sailing. The Don Oliver Youth Sport Foundation was founded in 1996 to honour the memory of New Zealand champion and Olympic weightlifter, and proud Westie, Don Oliver. The founders wanted to perpetuate Don's work with young people and established the foundation to provide scholarships for promising young Westie athletes in any sport who had the results and the x-factor to go on to national and/or international honours. Further information about the Don Oliver Youth Sport Foundation can be found at , including information about how to apply for the 2027 scholarships. 16th October 2026 at 10:20am ![autumn](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/images/1/4/9/6/8/1496877d14c74648bf91f79d1e209ffe7935aee4-autumn-front-of-school.jpg "autumn") Term 4 Calendar (2026) Planning Ahead 13th October 2026 at 8:30am [Term 4 Calendar (2026) Planning Ahead 13th October 2026 at 8:30am](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/news/term-4-2026/term-4-calendar-2026) ![keeping safe](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/images/1/2/f/6/f/12f6f602a5f50e9c946e97d43e23a27af5f555ec-keeping-our-community-safe2x.jpg "keeping safe") Stranger Danger (16/10/2026) Keeping our community safe 16th October 2026 at 1:40pm [Stranger Danger (16/10/2026) Keeping our community safe 16th October 2026 at 1:…](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/news/term-4-2026/stranger-danger-16-10-2026) ![Spanish trip 2026](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/images/9/e/2/8/a/9e28a9cb5764f4f402d8bf91b5065f256db4d93c-spanish-trip-2026.jpg "Spanish trip 2026") SPAIN Trip!
