We are pleased to promote GBHS student Tiger Wood-Weaver's entry! "What am I going to paint? The ever-going statement when I start a project. Bringing a vision to life is the easy part; envisioning it, not so much. I sat for weeks trying to bring on some profound idea with the next genius hidden meaning. I had both too many and not enough ideas. In the end, I painted exactly that. My painter's torment of staring at a blank canvas. The burnout I faced from overcomplicating what was supposed to be my passion. Ironically, this was the painting that made me fall back in love with painting, that made me have fun again." E Tipu, E Rea means ‘grow, young shoot,’ a reference to the budding artists as well as the gallery’s place here in Te Wao Nui-a-Tiriwa.
