Thursday, 10th April 2025 at 11:50am ##### Apply now to host an International Student from term 3 in 2025! Green Bay High School is currently looking for local families who are warm and welcoming to host in term 3. We have students available for 1, 2, 3 and 4 terms. We would love to hear from you if English is the main language spoken at home and you live within walking distance or close to the school bus route. Hosting an International student is a rewarding and enriching experience and the International Department at Green Bay High School will provide all the support and guidance you need to help make hosting a positive experience for everyone. The hosting fee is $350 per week. Here’s what some of our host families say about hosting an international student: “We have dynamic and funny conversations at dinner with varying points of view and I just love showing them our beautiful country.” “I will miss my students so much when they leave but it's amazing to know that we now have extended whanau throughout the world.” “I feel very supported throughout this experience and there is a real sense of community.” As part of the application process, Kinstry Smythe, our homestay manager will visit you at home to gather some information about your family interests and then carefully match a student to you. Our international students are 14 to 18 years old and are from Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Chile, Japan, China, Vietnam and Cambodia. Our students study in duration from 1 or 2 terms to 1 year, and some students may stay for 3 to 4 years to complete their high school education at GBHS.
