Indeed the Ministry of Education labels their termly reports on school attendance “Every Day Matters” - and indeed it does. Each opportunity to be in school is one that should be taken to maximise learning opportunities, both in the purely academic and also the social sense. **[HERE](https://www.education.govt.nz/our-work/strategies-policies-and-programmes/attendance-and-achievement/increasing-school-attendance)** is a link to the Ministry’s “Increasing School Attendance” page. The government has produced a series of initiatives to lift school attendance and thus achievement and life opportunities for young people. Green Bay High School uses the government’s “Stepped Attendance Response” to track and improve attendance rates. You will have received the Weekly Attendance Summary that registers the attendance record that we have for your child for the week. In general we are very pleased with the attendance rates for our school and that those numbers continue to grow.
