These exams are extremely important for several reasons: 1. They provide essential preparation for the NCEA end-of-year external exams. 2. They serve as Derived Grade, which may be used if a student is unable to sit their end-of-year exams due to illness, accident, bereavement or national representation. 3. Many of the exams are actual NCEA external papers or workshops that contribute to external portfolios, so attendance is crucial.
