As published in our weekly school newsletter over the past few weeks, there are some important dates that you need to be aware of as the secondary school teachers nationwide, who are members of the PPTA, take more industrial action. Across term two, teachers and staff who are PPTA members will refuse to give up scheduled planning and marking time to relieve for absent teachers or positions that are vacant and will also not attend meetings outside regular school hours. As part of the industrial action, year groups will be rostered home on particular days across term two. There will also be rolling strikes nation-wide, the Auckland strike day will be on **Thursday 11 May** and school will be closed for instruction for all students. If your child requires supervision, at school, please contact Deputy Principal [Sandy Begg](mailto:sandy.begg@greenbayhigh.school.nz) via email (or phone 817-8173 ext 216) to make arrangements. **Year groups will be rostered home on the following days:** **Year 9:** - Tuesday 16 May - Thursday 8 June **Year 10** - Wednesday 17 May - Tuesday 6 June **Year 11:** - Thursday 4 May - Thursday 25 May **Year 12:** - Tuesday 9 May - Thursday 1 June **Year 13:** - Tuesday 30 May You can find out more about the strike on the PPTA website, [www.ppta.org.nz](https://www.ppta.org.nz/) We are hopeful that there will be a positive resolution between the Ministry of Education and the PPTA, so that we can get back into the rhythm of school life.
