The NZ Cancer Society recommends we: - Slop on some broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen of at least SPF30. Apply at least 20mins before going outdoors so it can be absorbed into the skin. Cover all exposed skin - remember ears, feet, backs of knees and hands. Sunscreen should be stored in a cool, dark place. - Slap on a hat. A hat is a very important part of sunscreen protection. Hats should shade the face; bucket hats with a deep crown and broad-brim are ideal as part of the GBHS uniform.
