It has come to our attention that an adult male driving a small…" --- Stranger-Danger Stay Safe ![KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE](https://greenbayhigh.school.nz/user/pages/04.news/term-1-2024/stranger-danger/KEEPING%20OUR%20COMMUNITY%20SAFE@2X.jpg "KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE") # Stranger-Danger Wednesday, 20th March 2024 at 9:00am #### KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE: Earlier this week (Wednesday 20 March) we shared the following information with our school community and neighbouring schools' regarding an incident that occured while a student was walking home from school. **It has come to our attention that an adult male driving a small white truck/van approached one of our students on the afternoon of Tuesday 19 March, at approx 4pm, on South Titirangi Road, he grabbed the student's arm and tried to pull the student into his vehicle. The Police have been notified.** Anyone in the Titirangi, Green Bay or New Lynn area at the time, including those driving with dash cam footage, are asked to contact police on 105, quoting **file number 240319/5568.** Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. #### NZ Police safety messages for students include: - Walk or bike to and from school with a buddy - you are less likely to be approached when in a group. - Walk or bike along busy routes where other people are present - don't use hidden tracks or areas that cannot be seen from the road. - Never get in a vehicle or go somewhere with someone you do not know. - If a person is persistent, follows you, and won't leave you alone scream HELP, HELP, HELP as loudly as you can. Repeat this while getting as far away as possible. - Ring 111 immediately if you are concerned for your safety or think someone is following you.
