Winter Sports Update

Thursday, 25th May 2023 at 9:30am

Little Rays of Sunshine

Winter Sports are now well underway, and although the weather has brought floods, high winds and hailstorms, there have also been some little rays of sunshine...our students (of course)!

  • Lauren Barrett-Hamilton, Alexis Heckler, Amber Moore competed at the Orienteering Rogaine Championships with Lauren and Alexis placing 2nd in the Intermediate Girls' Team Division.
  • Twenty-three students represented Green Bay High School at the North West Cross Country Zones last week. Lyla Peters came 2nd in the Senior Girls Division. Senior Boys 3 man team placed 2nd (Jacob Hewitt, Aphichat Khothisen, Maksis Maulvurfs). Intermediate Boys 6 man team placed 3rd - (Isaac Gear, Harry Hardwick, Aidan Thornton, Kouki Zhang, Seiru Kanda, Albie Palmer-Clarke)
  • Shoutout to ALL of Green Bay High School's Girls' Football teams, who have had a great start to the season. The 1st XI Girls' Football team beat King's College 1st XI on Wednesday, with the final score of 4-0. The 2nd XI Girls' Football team beat Rutherford College on Wednesday, 5-0. And pictured is the Girls' Junior A team, who played their first game on Monday.
  • Six Senior students attended the Squash Individual Champs on Tuesday and Wednesday - big congratulations to Oskar Fischer for winning his division.

It's been great seeing all our winter teams up and running given the weather we've had! We are looking forward to seeing our Hockey and League teams start their season in the following weeks.
