Community Update - 1st February
Thursday, 2nd February 2023 at 9:11am
Kia ora e te whānau,
We confirm that Green Bay High School will be open for learning for Year 9 Students on Tuesday 7 February and all other year groups from Thursday 9 February.
While the Ministry of Education has given us the option of opening tomorrow, we are still drying out classrooms and making repairs. Twenty classrooms are affected in total including science labs, art rooms, maths, media and social sciences rooms. Our back driveway has also been damaged and will need repairing before it can be open again. The clean up has been a big job and I am grateful for our phenomenal grounds team and the staff, students and volunteers who have helped.
We will be ready to welcome you to school next week though, and the new schedule is below. Thank you for understanding during this time - let’s hope for some fine weather.
Our thoughts are with those families who have been flooded or have been dealing with difficult circumstances as a result of the flooding. It has been a challenging week and we apologise for the delay but can reassure you that it will be a fantastic year ahead.
Ngā mihi nui,
Fiona Barker Principal
