GBHS Taonga Māori Honours recipient (2021) Tyler Hireme has written, created and gifted the legacy of a meaningful haka to Green Bay High School, instilling our school vision of Te Angitū Ngātahi - Succeeding Together.

We are very humbled and grateful for Tyler and his mahi. Staff, student leaders, and our kapa haka group are busy learning this haka and we hope to spread this to our whole school over time. Ko te tumanako me haere tahi tatou - Let us do this together.

Pictured above are staff learning the correct pronunciation, meaning, kaupapa and tikanga of our school haka, under the watchful eye of Tyler, as part of today's professional learning lesson. CLICK HERE if you would like to practice at home!
