High Praise for Thomas!

Green Bay High School received a lovely letter on behalf of the Titirangi Folk Club, acknowledging Thomas Forrest-Dawson (Year 13) for his hard work, dedication, and care for others. The annual Folk Music Festival takes place each year in January, over the long weekend, at the Kumeu showgrounds. This festival relies heavily upon volunteers and it attracts up to 2000 people. Thomas has been a volunteer there for at least three festivals - and his community spirit shines through, leaving a lasting impression.

This year, the festival started on a Friday evening and ran until the final concert on Sunday night. However, Thomas was there from Thursday to Monday to help set up and take down. This particular weekend was hit by terrible weather, and the festival grounds became a muddy deluge, with many people needing to stay longer for their own safety. Thomas was always there to lend a helping hand, with a constant “I can do that for you!” attitude.

We would also like to commend Thomas for his community spirit - who is a fantastic ambassador for our school vision: Te Angitū Ngātahi - Succeeding Together.
